Financial Assistance for Families in Need
Greater Randolph Area Services helps families experiencing an urgent need facing eviction or disconnection resulting in housing insecurity.
Please download and complete the application requesting help and return it to us.
Our neighbors who may apply should live within the Bexar County cities of Adkins, Converse, Kirby, Live Oak, Saint Hedwig, Universal City, and Schertz. Unincorporated Bear County residents adjacent to these cities may also apply. Guadalupe County residents of the cities of Schertz, Selma, Cibolo, and Marion. Bracken, Selma and Garden Ridge residents of Comal County may also request assistance.
Walk-in appointments are accepted 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday at 250 Donalan, Converse, TX. Telephone 210-658-6351 or Email: Intake@grasp211.org for additional information or questions. Specific Appointments times may also be scheduled by phone for applications earlier or later in the day.
Rental Assistance

Resides at address for 12 months or more within the service area.
Has a current copy of Lease Agreement in applicants name.
Reports a past due balance and not scheduled for court eviction.
Late fees, deposits, and application fees will not be considered.
Total Household Income from all sources is below 200% poverty level.
A current photo ID reflecting current address.
Proof of income for most recent 30 days.
Current Lease must reflect applicant as a resident.
Has not received assistance in past 12 months.
Utility Assistance

Provides a current copy of Utility Bill (CPS or GVEC) in applicant’s name.
Reports past due balance
Disconnected service will not be considered.
Reconnect Fees or Deposits will not be considered.
Total Household Income from all sources is below 200% poverty level.
A current photo ID reflecting current address.
Proof of income for most recent 30 days.
Has not received assistance in past 12 months.
Clothing Assistance

Request a need for clothing voucher, diapers, incontinence, or feminine products.
Clothing vouchers are needed for school children, or for job requirements.
Total Household Income from all sources is below 200% poverty level.

Has not received assistance in past 12 months.
Disaster Recovery - Flood & Fires

GRASP provides help to families needing urgent assistance to recover from a household fire, flood, or natural events causing homelessness or housing insecurity. Clients may seek help with rent, clothing, furniture and household goods and food.
Resides at address for 12 months or more within the service area.
Resident of Bexar County Cities of Adkins, Cibolo, Converse, Live Oak, Schertz, Selma, Universal City, Kirby, Windcrest
Provides documentation for fire, flood, or other natural disasters occurring in most recent 90 days.
Referred by the United Way Helpline 211 or other agencies such as the Red Cross or Salvation Army.
A current photo ID or other available documentation reflecting current address.
Complete application and case manager interview.
GRASP Thrift Store Vouchers for household goods, clothing, and furniture will be offered.
Emergency Food Pantry Services

Walk-in appointments are accepted Monday to Friday 9 am to 3 pm.
Clients are our neighbors residing in our local communities.
Clients must complete application forms and report that income is below 200% of poverty level.
Bring a Current Photo ID
Frequency of visits is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on available pantry inventory.
Typical distributions include nonperishable items, frozen and refrigerated products, bread, produce, and dairy typically acquired through the San Antonio Food Bank, public food drives, and rescued product from stores and restaurants.
DONATIONS to help are accepted daily. Items preferred include Canned Vegetables and meals, soups, fruit, beans, pasta, tomato sauces, condiments, uncooked rice and beans, mac and cheese, spaghetti, desserts, snacks, peanut butter and jelly, and beverages. Boxed items must be sealed and not opened.
